Dear Delegates of the UIS,
At the end of July we will meet in France at the UIS General Assembly at the International Congress of Speleology. One of our duties will be to elect people to the UIS Bureau. The UIS needs good people who are willing to work for the UIS to improve speleology internationally. A good candidate should:
- Be active and knowledge about caves, their needs, and the caving organizations in your region.
- Be able to travel internationally at least once each year to the UIS Bureau meetings.
- Have a good working knowledge of written and spoken English, the language in which UIS business is conducted.
- Have time and enthusiasm to dedicate to UIS goals and activities.
- Understand that UIS Bureau members do not represent their countries or organizations; they represent and work for everyone around the world who is interested in caves and karst.
If you know someone who would be a good member of the UIS Bureau, please send a nomination message to UIS Secretary General Dr. Fadi Nader at fadi.nader@orange.fr and have the person you are nominating complete the form at https://form.jotform.com/71934426165156. All forms must be completed by 19:00 Paris, France, time on 20 July 2022. The forms will be posted at the Congress where you can read the information on all the candidates to help you decide how you will vote.
Remember, no country can have more than one person on the UIS Bureau. Only nominate one person from your country, otherwise you will divide your votes and it is unlike any of your candidates will have enough votes to be selected.
